The buyer has 31 days to transfer the title at an Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) branch. Required documents include State Form 205 (Application for Certificate of Title), the signed bill of sale, vehicle title, and valid identification.
Indiana requires emissions testing in Lake and Porter counties. Notarization is not required for the bill of sale, but both the buyer and seller must sign the document. The seller should also complete the assignment section on the back of the title.
